Climate Change & Clean Energy
We can transform our energy economy
Climate change is real and driven by fossil fuel emissions. Today, renewable energy is not only cleaner — it is often cheaper and easier to generate than fossil fuels. It’s time to modernize our energy system and accelerate the transition to clean energy.
Renewable Energy Expansion
I support expanding and diversifying renewable energy production across the United States while responsibly reducing our reliance on fossil fuels. Investing in renewable energy lowers electricity costs, strengthens energy independence, and creates good-paying jobs. Community-driven solar projects, in particular, can reduce household energy bills while keeping energy ownership local.
As the Sunshine State, Florida has enormous untapped solar potential. We should be leading the nation. I support increased federal investment in solar power, battery storage, and grid modernization to make our energy system more reliable, affordable, and resilient especially during hurricanes and extreme heat.
We must end federal subsidies for fossil fuel corporations, continue opposing offshore drilling in Florida waters, and hold polluters accountable for environmental damage. Taxpayers should not be forced to absorb the costs of climate destruction.
Protecting Florida's natural environment is non-negotiable. I will not support projects, renewable or otherwise, that cause unnecessary or irreversible harm to our land, water, or ecosystems.
AI Data Centers Regulations
Large-scale AI data centers pose growing environmental and infrastructure challenges. These facilities consume enormous amounts of electricity, require significant land use, and often shift energy and infrastructure costs onto local communities.
I support federal regulations that:
- Limit or carefully regulate the number and placement of large-scale data centers
- Require facilities exceeding a defined energy threshold to generate their own power or financially support the additional energy infrastructure they require
- Prevent local communities from subsidizing massive corporate energy consumption
Technology should not come at the expense of our environment, our power grid, or working families. Corporate growth must be paired with corporate responsibility.
